Impressions of Italy – Capri – Casa Malaparte

The picture shows the famous Casa Malaparte, the house of writer Curzio Malaparte, on the island of Capri, Italy, 19 May 2005. Malaparte built the villa at the Cape Massullo in the 1930ies and referred to it as ‘una casa come me: triste, dura, severa’ (a house of my kind: sad, hard, strict). Following year longs legal proceedings it is again in private ownership after it was willed to the People’s Republic of China by Malaperte. Photo by: Rolf Haid/picture-alliance/dpa/AP Images
